Joanne Lapic received her BFA in 1980 from Kutztown State College, where she concentrated on large-scale figure studies. Joanne resides in Kutztown with her husband Dave Miller and daughter Mikhaila Lapic-Lloyd, a stone's throw away from where she attended art school.

Joanne leads Art in the Afternoon, the Monday Artists Group, and Tuesday Evening Artists; teaches art at the Noble Project Demonstration School; instructs private students; freelances decorative art services, and conducts workshops. In addition, Joanne is proprietor of Paisley & Company Bath Boutique in Kutztown. Her personal work is reflective of her fascination with the natural world, its textures and respnses to changing light. Works on paper include watercolors, monotypes and drypoint, pastels, and mixed media.
